Nintendo announced a $50 price drop for its Wii U console for the holiday season, in an attempt to spur sales of the struggling system.
The Wii U Deluxe Bundle — originally $349 — has been marked down to $299 starting on Sept. 20. The deluxe bundle includes a charging cradle for the Wii U's GamePad, the touch screen controller included with each Wii U. It also includes a 32GB hard drive.
The 2DS will be priced at $129.99 compared to the $169.99 price tag for the 3DS or $199.99 for the the larger 3DS XL. One significant change noted from the Nintendo's screenshots is the 2DS does not fold closed like previous iterations. This could be an option to make it more sturdy for children.
